We just returned from a fun, insightful cruise with dozens of our amazing travel advisors. It really got me thinking about how and why we’ve been thriving and growing so consistently for over 17 years.
It all comes down to community.
At Curated Travel Collection, community isn’t just a buzzword, it’s the heartbeat of everything we do, whether it’s running our day-to-day business, growing relationships with vendors, or hosting team-building training events with our advisors.

So what does community look like for us? Here’s a look at what makes our advisors’ experiences so unique, meaningful, and fun:
Community That Connects
Our community is strong because we intentionally create the environment for real connection. Curated Advisors collaborate naturally; not because they have to, but because the opportunities we create for them to get to know each other, both virtually and in person, make it easy. Through calls, challenges, events, and small gatherings, relationships form organically, and collaboration becomes second nature.
Events That Spark Conversation
This past weekend was a perfect example of how an event sparked conversation. We hosted an agency sailing with every room filled. Some advisors knew each other, but many did not, and that’s exactly where we spark community and let it evolve. Dave and I sailed alongside them, building relationships by having conversations and getting to know advisors as people, not just as business owners.
In this industry, relationships are everything.
That’s why we intentionally design meet-ups that feel fun, open, and organic: drinks together, chats on the beach, poolside conversations. I spend time in public areas encouraging people to sit down, share their experiences, and just talk. These smaller, interactive events are some of my favorites because the conversations are intentional yet natural.
Magic Happens in the Unscripted Moments
The real growth happens in the moments that aren’t on any agenda. You might overhear:
- A seasoned advisor offering encouragement and tips to a new advisor finishing training
- One-on-one conversations about functional medicine or navigating a challenging group booking
- Friendly debates about strategy, decisions, or “what would you do?” scenarios
And of course, countless laughs that will turn into inside jokes we’ll be (and have been) laughing about for years. These are the stories that define our community.
Showing Up for Each Other
Some of the most meaningful moments are quiet ones. An advisor offering a ride, stepping in when someone is sick, or sharing a laugh in a small moment. This culture of showing up for each other is intentional, and it’s what makes Curated Travel Collection feel like more than just a professional network. It’s community that feels like family.
Leadership That’s Truly Present
We spend time alongside our advisors; we don’t run the company from afar. Dave and I are there with our advisors, sitting with them, laughing with them, learning about who they are. Leadership shouldn’t be distant. When it’s present, accessible, and engaged, it forms the foundation of our community and gives us a first-hand look at how to support our team.
Growth With Purpose
We’re not trying to be a mega host, and we’re proud of that. Our goal is different: to help advisors build sustainable businesses, grow into the professionals they are, and evolve year after year. Growth matters, but HOW you grow matters even more.
Culture That Speaks for Itself
Even outsiders notice how we interact and how our community enhances our experiences and helps us grow in this business. During the sailing, an advisor traveling solo overheard a conversation with a large host agency within our consortium. After learning about our culture and how we connect, she said she didn’t have opportunities like this at her agency. When she spent time around us, she loved what she heard.
